All Fjord horses have to be microchipped in order to be registered in Canada.

Microchips must be implanted by a veterinarian. Please advise your vet that the microchip used is an AVID microchip, and be sure that your vet scans the chip after implantation to verify its presence. Instructions for implanting microchips will be enclosed with the microchips.

As of January, 2010, for your convenience, microchips are now ordered through the CLRC. To order microchips, please make cheque payable to the CLRC and mail your payment to them along with the Order Form.

The AVID microchips cost $22 each. Shipping and handling will be calculated.
